Question 4

Gene is experiencing headaches when changing positions. She has regular headaches in the morning when lights are on and when there is more noise around breakfast, lunch and dinner time. She does not have increased intracranial pressure. She was unconscious initially for ~5 minutes and does not remember the accident. She scored 13/15 on the Glasgow Coma Scale upon admission. At times she feels confused but is oriented to person, place and time. She explains that her right shoulder hurts but only when trying to use it to change positions or to initially lift her right shoulder to the side. She has had an x-ray that was negative and the resident said that a CT is not indicated based on her symptoms.

With this new information, how would you proceed?
